Brake pads rarely fail without warning — they simply run out of material while the driver is not looking. These are the four signals we act on.
1. **A metallic squeal that never goes away.** Modern pads have a wear indicator that touches the disc at roughly 3 mm.
2. **A spongy or long pedal.** Usually moisture in the fluid rather than pad wear; both need attention.
3. **Heavy black dust on the front wheels.** Aggressive compounds wear faster — measure, do not guess.
4. **Deep grooves or a lip on the disc.** At that point the discs need replacing with the pads.
We measure pad thickness in millimetres and photograph every corner, so you can decide with facts instead of a guess.
